Beauty for a Living

I am getting excited about the makeup/ beauty blogging world. I learnt so much from everyone and I love looking at all the makeup pics. It's just fantastic!

And guess what, there is even a contest to join. Here is the latest one from "Beauty for a Living". A Shu Makeup Brush Set to be worn. How generous and kind of the beauty writer!

Here is the link:

Wish me luck! ^_^

MAC Holiday 2008: Passions of Red Collection

This is the Holiday 2008 collection from Mac. 4 lovely eyeshadow palettes in a lovely red jewel casing. But now wait a minute, how comes the smoky palette looks so familiar to the one I got last year?? Hmm.. Are they trying to recycle or what? Of the 4 palettes, the only one which interests me is the classic eye palette. Which is a real surprise, considering that this palette has a metallic green and a metallic blue in it. But the other 3 palettes are a bit boring this time round. So that's why i got the classic eye palette.

Dior Night Diamond Case

I love xmas. It's the time of the year when there are so many lovely things to look out for. This Dior Night Diamond Case is darling. A silky powder with shimmers for an all-over glow. How lovely! I love it!

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Nude palette

I have been waiting for this quite some time. Very happy that I managed to get it in town while I was out with my hubby. Going to town nowadays is a luxury. It's difficult to leave the house when you have a baby at home. =P

Anyway, I am into nude and natural colours. This is my 'dream palette' so to say. It costs me a whoopy $89, but well, Xmas is coming.... in 2 months? Make it a Xmas present.. er.. an early one then! =)

Robinson Sale @ Expo

Ok, I am slow. Ever since I gave birth, I devote most of my personal time to motherhood. So now I am digging out some of my purchases.

This is what I got from a Robinsons Sale at Expo some time back. My favourite purchase has to be the Guerlain eyeshadow quads. They are sooo pretty. The lip is has a very heavy gold casing. Lovely! Not sure if I will use it.

Another purchase which I quite like is the Givenchy eyeshadow quad. It's a limited edition quad. Not cheap, as it costs about $35 after the discount. But still worth getting. =)

The HR mascara is only $20. Ok, I am not a mascara person, but I love the leopard print on it. What an art piece!

Milani

This is one of my most wanted makeup brand, Milani. My darling husband was in US for his trip and he took pictures of the Milani shelf for me to admire! So sweet of him.

He even managed to score a few latest Milani Runway Eyes Wet/Dry eyeshadow for me! This is after searching through quite a no. of stores for them. So happy!

Anyway, looking at the almost empty Milani shelf make me realise how popular Milani is in US.

Final haul for Dec 07?

Could this be my final haul for Dec 07? Not very sure as every day, there seem to be a sale here and there. But 1 thing for sure is these Milani Runway Eyes are definately beauties fo their own. I got them with the help of my makeup buddy who kindly let me hope onto their CP. Although 1 of them (the gold + green one) didn't seem to have managed the journey across the ocean well, I am still going to keep it for more admiration. *LOL* When my hubby goes over to US this coming Feb, will get him to replenish stocks for us!

These are the stuff which my makeup buddy helped me get on the 2nd day of the Prestige Warehouse Sale. Look at the gorgeous Paul and Joe stuff. Can't imagine how much they would cost if I have to pay full price for them in the stores. All credits must go back to my makeup buddy for her precious time and effort.

L'oreal Warehouse Sale Nov 07

Ok, I am pregnant so I can't afford to fight with other girls at the warehouse sale. So I took half day off yesterday to venture into the annual L'oreal warehouse sale at Expo. I arrived there at about 2:30pm, but was suprised to see that most of the items were already sold out. Didn't even see my favourite sheet masks, which I got so many last year!
The most interesting items I got are these Maybelline items (5 for $20). I like the dream mouuse, which I have one for eyeshadow and another one which is a blusher. Both perform really well. Anyway, there were really very limited quantity and colours at the sale, so I just grab what I feel I can use.
The cheeks duos are pretty cute, though a bit small in size. But at $4 each, can't complain.
I hope next year's sale will be more interesting. Will make it a point to go there first thing in the morning to get the best bargain! *wink*

Lunasol Party Coffret Set (Xmas 07)

This is the latest Lunasol Xmas 07 set which I got from Takashimaya yesterday. Lunasol makes really pretty (and worth getting) Xmas set every year.

This year, the set consists of 4 items (Lighting for eyes eyeshadow quad, Germinate Liner, Full Glamour Gloss and Shining Face colour). I wouldn't say the colours for the makeup is very outstanding, but at least they are easy to use colours for a natural look. In it goes into my Lunasol colletion right now!

MAC Finery Coral & Bobbi Pink Quartz

I took whole of friday off yesterday as I was pretty tired of my project and seriously needed a break. Since I needed to go for my checkup in the afternoon, I decided the spend the rest of the day R&R.

Just so happened my dear friend told me that MAC Finery sets are out. So I went the Isetan Scots counter to pick up my set in Coral. I would say that I am not a big fan of MAC, and I only started buying their stuff again last Xmas. But I am specially interested in this year's Antiquetease collection. I have already bought the warm palette and metallics palette about 2 weeks' back. This Finery set in Coral will be my last MAC item to be thrown into my Xmas shopping list.

Besides MAC, I also dropped by at Bobbi Brown to get my much lemmed after Pink Quartz Shimmerbrick. Oh, what a darling it is. So girlie and romantic! I was so excited about this release that I didn't even bother to try it on! *LOL* I was determined to try out the look on the cover girl in the Pink Quartz so in goes the Bronze Pink lipgloss into my shopping list.

Very happy with both purchases, although it's pretty scary to think that I bought all the above in less than 15mins' time! Women...

Bobbi Brown Pink Palette

This is another of my favourite, Bobbi Brown's Pink Palette & brush set. I got it from the airport duty with the help of a very kind friend. I love this palette a lot. The colours are very wearable and natural.
As you can see, I am a big fan of palettes. I think they are made to help save time when it comes to colour combination. But I also think that they are made for admiration too. *wink*

L'oreal collection

I realised I have lots of pics of my makeup collection. Might as well display them out all to enjoy the lovely colours.
This is my L'oreal collection. I got all of them during the end of the year L'oreal warehouse sale end of 2006. I think I got them pretty cheap at about 3 for $10 or about there.

IPSA warehouse sale 06 & 07

Part of my much-priced colletion. IPSA eyeshadow quads and lip palettes. I got them end of 2006 and early 2007 during the warehouse sale. Each quad only costs me $20 (original price is about $79/quad or palette).

I did try out the eyeshadow quad as I bought an extra one purely for use. The quality is really good and the powder is really fine. I would say $20 is really value for money. Too bad the warehouse
sale seem to have stopped this year. *sad*

I have not managed to try the lip palettes yet. But they certainly look tempting. I doubt I will ever bear to use them.

Paul and Joe Summer Breeze

What caught my eyes at the very beginning is the name "Summer Breeze" and the adorable cut-out pic. My favourite colour is blue and I think it's pure luck that I came across it selling for only $10. This is from one of my favourite brands, Paul & Joe. I love it for its girly packaging and the lovely flower mortif on every compact. Summer Breeze is a very subtle blue colour eyeshadow. I doubt I will ever bear to use it, so I will keep it for pure admiration from time to time.

Found this Paul and Joe colour imagination card from my PC. Aren't they lovely?
